Map of South America with a vignette of a sea battle between native and European sailing vessels, and annotations at the bottom describing Magellan's discovery of the Straits of Magellan, during his circumnavigation in 1520 aboard the Victoria. Maps by Chiquet are relatively rare due to his short career during which he only published two atlases, both in 1719.
