A large and decorative map of North America, with a large island of California, with Agubela de Gato a peninsula of the mainland; 'Terre de Jesso' fills the north Pacific; and the Great Lakes are open-ended in the west. This map has a complicated history: the heirs of Nicolas Sanson asked Jaillot to redraw Sanson's maps for a larger format atlas. This map is often taken to be a later state, but is in fact a completely new plate, pirated by Mortier. McLAUGHLIN: 55.

Sanson's map of the Turkish Empire, enlarged by Jaillot in partnership with Sanson's heirs with fine baroque title and scale cartouches. It was published in Jaillot's 'Atlas Nouveau', one of the largest general atlases up to that time. TIBBETTS: 151, a later example dated 1689.

Map of the Holy Land drawn after Guillaume Sanson, divided into the twelve tribes of Israel on both sides of the Jordan, the shoreline running from Sidon to Gaza. This map features two beautiful rococo catouches, the one at the top left is flanked by Moses with the tablets of the law and Aaron with his scepter, the Ark of the Covenant is shown below surmounted by cherubim. The cartouche at the bottom right shows God the Father above clouds and flanked by different animals. LAOR 369

Rare 1781 edition of Jaillot's map of the Holy Land, engraved by Cordier and originally published with decorative cartouches for the title and scale. The Jaillot family sold up their business in 1781: Desnos bought much of their stock, reissuing this plate with only yhe date changed. It shows the Holy Land after Sanson, divided into the Twelve Tribes with decorative cartouches for the title and scales. LAOR: 368, this state not listed.

Early edition of Sanson's map of the British Isles, redrawn on a larger scale by Jaillot at the request of Sanson's heirs, first published in the 'Atlas Nouveau' from 1674. During the course of this map's life Jaillot had three pairs of plates engraved, with only minor changes. This is the second state of the second pair, with the lines of longitude and latitude that were added in the first year of issue. The third state has the date 1696. A very decorative map, with fine baroque title and scale cartouches and an inset of the Orkneys and Shetland Isles. A large and decorative map of Ireland, from Mortier's issue of Jaillot's 'Atlas Nouveau', with fine baroque title and scale cartouches and an inset showing Ireland's position it relation to the rest of the British Isles. It is based on Sanson's map, which Jaillot had redrawn on a larger scale at the request of Sanson's heirs. BONAR LAW: 40, state iii of iv.
