Head and shoulders portrait of a Maori Chief (probably Turi-a-kuna or Tooree Oganna of Rangihoua) with a feather cloak, turkey feather above left ear, and moko (Maori face tattoos). Drawn by John William Lewin, this portrait was published in Edward Griffith's 'The Animal Kingdom by the Baron Cuvier'. Lewin (1770-1819) was New South Wales's first first professional artist, specialising in natural history. His watercolour of this portrait is held by the National Library of Australia.
