'The Nebulous Dawn', a satirical procession from Florence to Rome, representing Rome becoming the capital of unified Italy, July 1st, 1871. Led by Time and 'Shadows of Revolution', the caricatures of vested interests follow, with explanations in archaic verse styled on the work of Petrarch (1304-74). The general tone is set by one man, whose banner of 'Economy and Reform' is upside down.
