An uncommon view of Constantinople, based on Braun & Hogenberg. From Myller's 'Peregrinus In Jerusalem'. Myller journeyed from Rome to Jerusalem, then continued to Turkey, visiting Troy, Gallipoli and Constantinople. He then crossed to Egypt, returning to Rome via Syria and Malta.

Myller journeyed from Rome to Jerusalem then on to Troy, Gallipoli and Constantinople. From Constantinople he travelled to Egypt and then to Syria. Finally from Syria he travelled to Malta and back to Rome

A frontispiece from 'Peregrinus In Jerusalem', the account of the 1718 journey of German monk Angelicus Maria Myller from Rome to Jerusalem then on to Troy, Gallipoli, Constantinople, Syria then back to Rome via Malta. This plate is a summary: it shows Myller riding a donkey into Egypt, with a bird's-eye view of the eastern Mediterranean behind, marking 'Caromania' (Turkey), Syria and Cyprus. 'Terraque Marique’ roughly means ‘by land and sea’.
