Map of the environs of the Ottoman fortress of Prevesa with a fleet of galleys in the Gulf of Arta. In 1538 the Ottoman commander Barbarossa beat a Holy League fleet at the Battle of Prevesa. This plan was published in Camocio's 'Isole famose, porti fortezze e terre marittime sottoposte alla Ser.ma Sig.ria di Venezia' , a description of the places claimed as subject to the Republic of Venice. A copy of Ortelius's map of Ancient Greece, with westernTurkey, in turn based upon Nikolaus Sophianos' map of Greece of around 1540. This version was engraved by Jodocus Hondius Jnr for Petrus Bertius's 'Theatrum geographiae veteris'. ZACHARAKIS: 1665.

A miniature map of Crete. A second title appears outside the neatline. The map was published in 'Il theatro del mondo', an Italian pirate edition of the Ortelius 'Epitome' miniature atlas. A very uncommon map of Greece, engraved by Jan Swelinck after Nicolas Sanson. The title cartouche features an Ottoman ruler, highlighting the Turkish rule over Greece. ZACHARAKIS: 3608, this early state not listed, only a Langlois edition of '1677?'.
