ORTELIUS, Abraham. [16th century Dutch map of Denmark]
Daniae Regni Typus. Antwerp: Christoph Plantin, 1574, Latin edition. Coloured, with gold highlights. 315 x 410mm.
Ortelius's antique map of Denmark in full double page format, uncommon because it was replaced in 1581 by a half-plate map. This example has the pagination of the 1579 edition written over the number of the 1574 edition: the publishers were obviously using up the unused sheets of the earlier edition. VAN DEN BROECKE: 84.
[Ref: 12881]    £900.00 ($1,157 • €1,051 rates)

SPEED, John. [The first English atlas map of Denmark]

A fine, large and decorative map of Denmark, from Mortier's issue of Jaillot's 'Atlas Nouveau', with fine baroque title and scale cartouches. It is based on Sanson's map, which Jaillot had redrawn on a larger scale at the request of Sanson's heirs.
[Ref: 8323]    £450.00 ($578 • €526 rates)

JAILLOT, Alexis-Hubert. [18th century sea chart of the Sund]
Carte de Detroit du Sond Contentant Costes de L'Isle de Zelande Comprises Nicopen et L'Isle de Meun, et celles du Schonen, Depuis la Pointe de Kol, jusqu'a Valsterbon. Paris: Depot de la Marine, c.1760. Coloured. 590 x 900mm. Good dark impression, a fine example.

CASSINI, Giovanni Maria. [Denmark]
Il Regno di Danimarca con il Ducato di Sleswik Delineato sulle Ultime Osservazioni. Rome, 1796. Coloured. 490 x 355mm.
