BECK, Henry C.
London Transport Underground. London: Waterlow & Sons, 1940. Colour lithographic map. Sheet 660 x 855mm. Original folds as issued, otherwise in superb condition.
A wartime example of the Beck poster map, issued seven years after the first edition of 1933, with a rich blue border. The magnitude of the war had not yet sunk in, and the map still shows the planned extensions to the Northern and Central Lines that were put on hold or, like the Alexandra Palace spur and the Mill Hill - Edgeware link, dropped altogether. The Central Line is no longer the 'Central London Line'. GARLAND: Mr Beck's Underground Map.
