CLEMENTI, V.
Teatro di Operazioni nell'Oceano Pacifico.
Rome: Tumminelli, 1942. Printed in black and red. Sheet 470 x 635mm.

An Italian map of their ally Japan's progress in the Pacific theatre of the Second World War, published in the 'Cronache della Guerra ' January 1942, a little over a month after their attack on Pearl Harbour. It shows the shipping routes, and possible targets in America, Australia and New Zealand, and South East Asia.
The Japanese actions are exaggerated: Auckland is marked as 'bombed by the Japanese, although in fact a small seaplane, launched from a submarine, only flew over Auckland and Wellington.
