Map of the United States published in the 'Atlante Geografico'. The map features all thirty-three of the states established at the time of publication. This includes California and Wisconsin, the newest additions to the Union. Six large territories, comprising the rest of the nation, are also depicted: Indian Territory, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon and Utah.
A note (in Italian) to the bottom right of the map, states that the map is based on J.H. Colton's four-sheet map from 1852.
Below the map is a chart of population statistics from the censuses of 1790 and 1850. These show the number of whites, free blacks, and slaves in each state and territory.
