Engraved by Jodocus Hondius, this is one of the most decorative maps of Hampshire. At top left is a plan of Winchester and at top right the Royal arms. The map is flanked by the arms of various of the Earls of Winchester, for a long time England's second city, and the Earls of Southampton. On the reverse is an English-text description of the county and a gazetteer.
