Sanson's map of the Mediterranean was redrawn on a larger scale by Jaillot at the request of Sanson's heirs and originally published in the 'Atlas Nouveau'. However Jaillot seems to have fallen out with his associates and entered a partnership with Pierre Mortier in Amsterdam, who copied the plates and published a pirate edition, without the approval of Sanson's heirs.
