A double hemisphere world map, first published in 1752, but here updated to show the discoveries of Captain Cook on his three voyages. Thus Australia, New Zealand and the Bering Strait are quite well defined, and Hawaii, where Cook died, is marked.
The cusps are filled with rococo cartouches.
