A 1.5 inch-to-a-mile map of Linlithgowshire, with a decorative title cartouche and a dedication to John Hope (1765-1823), Earl of Hopetoun, a Lieutenant General who took command of the British Army in Iberia after the death of Sir John More at the Battle of Corunna in 1809. The map is extended in the east to show the New Town of Edinburgh.
