Despite the map showing the Pacific coasts of California and Kamchatka to the Arctic Circle, the title vignette shows an elephant, rhinoceros, ostrich and crocodile. Also of interest is the imaginary Northwest Passage that connects Hudson Bay with Cape Fortune. One of the most bizarre maps of the Pacific Northwest.
