A very fine example with wide margins
France had recognised the United States as early as December 1777; the treaty ending the War of Independence was only signed the year before this map was published. Bottom right is a list of the first 13 States and their capitals, with a list of 10 planned states: Silvania, Michigania, Chersonesus, Arsenistpia, Metropotamia, Illinoia, Saratoga, Washington, Polypotamia, and Pelisypia.
