Steel-engraved town plan, engraved by J. & C. Walker for Lewis' Topographical Dictionary. This example has been updated to show Brunel's Hungerford Suspension Bridge and the spur of the London and Croydon Railway to the Bricklayers Arms at the junction of the Old and New Kent Roads. This was built by the L&CR and the South Eastern Railway because they were concerned by the charges imposed by the London and Greenwich Railway for use of their line to London Bridge.
