A large map of Italy marking the post roads, with vignette scenes showing Naples from the sea with Vesuvius smoking, and Venice's railway viaduct.
The map is dedicated to Austrian Emperor Ferdinando I (1793-1875), who was also king of Lombardy-Venetia, which had been created by the Congress of Vienna in 1815. Four years after this map was published he abdicated from both thrones in the face of the 1848 Revolutions.
