The East Indies, marking Thailand, The Philippines, Java, Borneo. A pictorial cartouche features a local house raised on stilts above a snake infested jungle.
As this map dates from the early stages of exploration of the area, it is filled with comments such as, 'This part is very little known', 'This inland part in inhabited by the Biayos a savage people', 'Wild people inhabit these hills'.
