A plan of one of the three proposals for the development of the land owned by the Crown in Marylebone, submitted by John Nash. Although he won, the plan was much altered before building even began. The original plan has circular terraces of houses in the Inner Circle, a Life Guards' Barracks where the zoo is now, a full circular Park Crescent, a drinking water reservoir, and three markets (for hay, vegetables and meat) in the south east of the park, which was to be supplied by the Regent's Canal.
This plan was engraved by Neele from a manuscript by Peter Potter, and was published in John White's ''Some Account of the Proposed Improvements of the Western Part of London, By the Formation of the Regent's Park, The New Street, The New Sewer, &c. &c.''.
