A minature map of Scotland

Amsterdam, 1602 or 1606. Original colour. 85 x 125mm, with letterpress sur-title.

A scarce map of Scotland, orientated with north to the right, omitting the Hebridies, Galloway and the Borders. It was engraved by either Jodocus Hondius or Pieter van der Keere for the 'Caert-Thresoor' by Langenes in 1598, but this example was published in the 'Tabularum Geographicarum' with a text by Petrus Bertius.
In 1616 a new plate was engraved by Jodocus Hondius II, slightly larger and with wider borders with scales of longitude and latitude.
