One of the earliest plans of Chester, published in Braun & Hogenberg's 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum', the first systematic series of printed town plans. Decorations include Queen Elizabeth I's Royal Crest (lion and Welsh dragon rampant) and nine other crests including those of the Bishop of Chester.
