A scarce and detailed plan of Milan, engraved by Giuseppe Caniani, with extensive keys above and below the map.
It was first published in 1801, when Milan was capital of Napoleon Bonaparte's Cisalpine Republic. By the time this edition was issued Napoleon had dropped any pretence of republicanism and had made himself monarch of the Kingdom of Italy.
