Minor repairs to original folds.

A large map of New York State and New Jersey, with the surrounding area, also marking Boston and Montreal. It is based on the work of Claude Joseph Sauthier (1736-1802), a French surveyor working for the British in Americas from 1767, including serving as the surveyor for the Province of New York, when he determined the border between New York and Quebec. When war broke out in 1776 he mapped Staten Island for General William Howe and Fort Washington on Manhattan Island when it was captured by General Hugh Percy's army. He joined Percy's staff and left the Americas when Percy resigned his commission in 1777.
