An interesting map of Italy based on Rizzi-Zannoni's 'Nuova Carta dell'Italia' of 1802, on an unusual projection that removes the west-east slant of the peninsula.
The author, John Chetwood Eustace (1762-1815), was a catholic priest who travelled through Italy in 1802, taking advantage of the short Peace of Amiens. A red line marks his 'Grand Tour'. He died of malaria in Naples.
