An important map, published the year that Britain occupied Cape Colony during the French Revolutionary Wars. It records the homesteads of many of the early Dutch settlers, the native kraals and the trails between the towns. This second edition has a number of corrections and additions of new settlements and roads. Tooley lists editions of the map to 1838.
The decorative title cartouche shows mounted Europeans hunting elephants with lances.
