TERMS

All items in our on-line catalogue are offered subject to prior sale.
Items can be ordered by phone, fax or by using the secure on-line “order form”, orders are dealt with in strict order of receipt.
Items will be sent immediately after receipt of payment. 
All goods remain the property of Altea Gallery Limited until payment has been received in full. 
Should any item for any reason prove unsatisfactory it may be returned for a full refund provided it is returned to us in the same condition as supplied, within ten days and at the expense of the buyer, using the same method of shipment, properly wrapped and fully insured.

PRICING

All prices are quoted in UK Pound Sterling (£/GBP). Sales tax (VAT) is included where applicable. Under current UK regulations, books, antique maps, charts and town plans are Zero Rated (0% ) for VAT purposes; but  decorative prints and globes are charged at the standard VAT rate of 15% . 
VAT REFUND FOR EXPORT: if applicable VAT will be deducted from the quoted price for all exports outside the European Union, and for European Union businesses registered for sales tax in their country, provided they supply us  with their valid VAT/TVA/UST/IVA number at the time of placing the order. 

SHIPPING

Shipments will be at the customer's expense. All UK mail orders will be sent using Royal Mail next day “special delivery” service . Overseas orders would normally be sent via registered (signed for) air mail service; however for items with value above £ 250 we recommend using either Federal Express or DHL, pricing can be found either on our on-line order form or will be quoted to the customer upon receipt of the order. All items shipped are automatically insured to their full value (up to a maximum of £ 20,000 per shipment), this service is free of charge to our customers.

CONDITION

All items offered are guaranteed original antique copper engravings unless otherwise stated, published at or around the date specified. We do not sell reproductions or facsimiles. 
A Certificate of Authenticity and Antiquity is provided free of charge for every item we sell. Each item is in good condition unless otherwise noted in the description, allowing for the usual minor imperfections of antique material. Care has been taken in noting serious flaws

COLOURING

All items are black & white (uncoloured) unless otherwise stated. "Original colour" means that the item was coloured by hand at or about the time of publication; "old" colour is early but probably not original; "coloured" means the item was coloured later and at any time in the last 100 years. 

SIZES

All Measurements are expressed in millimeters and are taken to the platemark unless stated, height by width. (100 mm = approx 4 inches)

PAYMENT

By Cheque:
We accept cheques drawn in Pounds Sterling on a British bank in the UK, International Money Order, made payable to “Altea Gallery”. 
By Credit Card:
We accept all major credit cards: VISA / MASTERCARD / AMERICAN EXPRESS / EUROCARD / JCB / AMERICAN EXPRESS. Please note that we can charge your card only in  our currency (UK Pound Sterling - £/GBP), your card issuing company/bank will then debit your account in your home currency using their own rates of exchange.
