The map shows the upper east coast of 'New Holland' with Cook's discoveries and names. The north part of New Guinea is shown, while the southern part is left open. Many of the islands are recorded; the Torres Straids, The Solomons, New Caledonia, the Friendly Isles and the Hebrides.
