An important map of Russia, based on that of Anthony Jenkinson (1525-1611), an English merchant and cartographer who travelled through Russia and Persia 1557-60. Spread around the map are vignettes and anecdotes from Jenkinson's account, including a Kirgessen priest in a tree, sprinkling a mixture of earth, blood, milk and dung on his people, with bodies 'buried' in the woods behind.
