Scarce map of Sumatra, the Strait of Malacca with the southern part of the Malay Peninsula, oriented to the northwest, with Sumatra being presented vertically and the Equator crossing the map diagonally. The Strait of Singapore is named and the island that would later become Singapore is shown. Published in Van der Aa's monumental work 'La Galerie agreable du Monde'
