George Eldridge (1821-1900) specialised in sea charts of New England based on the official U.S. Coastal Surveys. The business was continued by his son, George Washington Eldridge (1845-1914). The seller's stamp belongs to Edward Clifton Lord (1858-1934), ship chandler of Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard, who was the official retailer of the Eldridge charts under G.W. Eldridge.
